Black Press @200 marks the bicentennial of the Black Press, celebrating two centuries of protest, creativity,
and journalism. Included is developing the public-facing platform for its 2027 launch, led by the Black Beyond Data Project at Johns Hopkins University and supported by the Mellon Foundation. The site features the Freedom to Create Tool—an interactive editor that lets users design their own newspaper covers by remixing content from 200 years of Black Press history.
